Disability Equality and Social Inclusion

Global Management Support Ltd holds the exclusive licence to deliver the only accredited disability equality courses within your area. Our awards are accredited through the NCFE/GALLANT2000 Accreditation and Assessment Centre.

The Disability Equality Duty forms part of the Disability Discrimination Act 2005, and comes into force in December 2006.

It is about ensuring equality of opportunity, a fairer society and creating a more inclusive environment. The DDA is the most far reaching legislation ever, concerning the rights of people with disabilities, embracing the full spectrum of disabilities. It affects ALL organisations from the smallest sole trader to the biggest multinational. Getting it right need not be complex or costly but involves common sense and thought.

With these changes in mind, having a sound understanding of disability issues becomes vital.

The contents of these programmes contribute to that understanding and will work towards creating a truly socially inclusive society for all disabled people. The programme is ideal for anyone interested in gaining more knowledge of disability issues and an accredited level 2 qualification.

The DDA 2005 places a duty on organisations to promote disability equality. This will affect all public bodies - from local councils to government departments from universities to hospitals, their suppliers and the private sector.

In order for the duty to be effective in promoting disability equality, staff will need to be trained in relation to the duties. They will need to be aware of what the requirements are, and why they are necessary, as well as being equipped with the necessary skills to implement the duties.

We offer the following courses.

        • Disability Equality Matters (DEM) 1 day
        • Disability Equality Certificate Level 2 (DEC) 6 day
